A. Umm. when i was younger i used to get physically abused, and i was really emotional while i was growing up. Now that i'm older, i've come to terms with what happened to me, and i've learned to talk about it with my parents. The best thing for someone to do in those type of situations is to get out of that type of lifestyle, and don't see it as a downfall, but as motivation.

Is work more important than a personal life?
Q. I spent 4 and a half years making work my priority, in the last 10 months that changed and personal things became more important. Now my personal life rules my world its affecting my ability to work at my current job, should I throw in my job which I can't handle anymore so I can sort out my personal life. I fear if my job gets any worse or I can't offload some of my responibilities I'm going to end up 6ft under. I do like my job some of the time and have a good boss. But its time for me to live my life, but will throwing in my job ruin my life? Which one is more important?

A. A job is one of the most important things that you will ever do or have.Without a job you won't have much of a personal life, cause you won't be able to afford to do the fun things.Never throw in the towel. We all go through the down times in a job.Maybe ask for a week or two off from your doctor. You may just need a break.Very common. We all need a break from our jobs, but there is other ways around it instead of being just a bum.Figure out if a few weeks will help you.Talk to your boss they can be understanding of it.They are only human too.

Why people always want to know about the personal life of film stars and politicians?
Q. People all over the world want to know about their favourite star's personal life. So the media always want to cover something about these stars which results in a bad reputation for the actors. Why don't we see them just as an actor/actress/politician?
Asked by XYZ - Tue Jun 30 13:18:45 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Because some of them want to relate to these actors by knowing a little bit more about their background. Others feel that they are their "Hommies" if they knew a little something personal . Like Twittering <<< (Which is Bull***)

Is talking about my personal life at work inappropriate?
Q. Is it inappropriate to talk about my personal life at work? One of my co-workers told me it is and I wonder if she's right or if she is blowing it out of proportion. I've heard other co-workers talking about their personal lives. I was talking about some of my health and dental problems and a disagreement I was having with my boyfriend. Do co-workers get uncomfortable if I talk about things that are considered too personal? Maybe I'm too trusting of people and view my co-workers as friends.

A. It's ok to talk about some things that are private.. but remember.. I would only tell personal things about my life to someone I believe is interested. if they tell me about themselves.. and nothing they can use behind your back against you... It's ok to talk about family and other things during break time.. as I believe it's important to get to know ones colleagues to some extent.. so one should talk a bit about ones private life.. but not tell them everything so they know all the details and can read you like an open book.. it's good to have a nice work atmoshphere and to be able to share a joke.. and to mention some things about ones private life.. Your co-worker is partly right .. but not entirely.. it depends what about your private… [cont.]

how was the personal life of shkespeare important in the elisabethan times?
Q. how was his personal life attached to his plays. did his personal life inspire his plays and poems? pleseee anything will be very useful!

A. Very little is known of Shakespeare's life. There are not many facts and so to assume that anything in the plays is biographical is really question of believe. But most writer's do draw on personal experience when writing so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that something of his personal experience would be in the some of the plays. Scholars seem to think that the sonnets might be more biographical. Several of his plays take place in Italy, some have suggested that this is so because he had traveled there. But again there is no prove that that was the case.

How do you deal with a co-worker who talks too much about her personal life?
Q. My co-worker talks too much about her personal life with me. She constantly comes to my desk and talks about her daughter, husband, parents, etc. I don't like to talk about my past or personal life because its painful. I also believe that work and personal life do not mix. How do I change the subject to profesional topics without appearing too obvious? She does this with everyone and I find it boring and unprofessional.

A. Is the main problem that she interruputs you when you'e working? If so, simply say "I' cant talk now, I've got to finish this report" If the problem is that you only want to talk about job issues, assert yourself and switch topics. You could choose something she knows about, pick her brain. If pickings are slim, ask her a question that requires more opinion than expertise For example "I've been meaning to ask you, does it seem that we're even busier now that the new efficiency system is in place? If you can't bring yoursef to do that, or if the co-worker has seniority and you're cautious about being direct you could shift topics gradually, something like this: I'm sorry about your mother-in law's botched gastric bypass… [cont.]

What will lack of sleep do to my health life and personal life?
Q. I am a 22 year old man and working as a marine agent at port authoirty. Basically what that means is anytime (day or night) a ship comes in, I have to be at the port for their arrival and departure. Needless to say, I average about 3 hours of sleep a night. This is a very high stress job and exhausting. The only thing that keeps me going with this job is the money and the fact that I have no car payment, cell phone payment, gas costs, or internet payments. The benefits are nice but what are the effects lack of sleep will have on my body and personal life and is it really worth it?
Asked by Greg K - Wed May 30 12:18:07 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Your body uses sleep to re-fuel and repair damage done from everyday stress. Without sleep, your body doesn't fully recover and you will see signs of it later on. Money isn't everything, enjoy your youth and health while you've still got them.

In an era where intrusive social networking sites are so popular, how do you keep your personal life private?
Q. How do you keep your personal life under wraps without becoming a recluse? Socializing is very healthy but how do you make sure you're extroverted without people knowing what goes on in your personal life?

A. Well I do it quite well I think.. first I don't post my whole life on Facebook or whatever other "social site". Second, if people ask me personal questions I give them banal answers and cultivate an uninteresting facade. Finally I keep only a small few people within an intimate circle of friendship.. everyone else remains on the periphery where I skim the surface with them only. The trick is to let everyone tell you everything about themselves, all their secrets and problems and such without revealing anything of yourself. Be the person everyone tells everything to because you never talk about yourself. I'm the one who knows the details of everyone elses personal life, yet nobody truly knows mine. I don't tell anyone else things people… [cont.]

Who has more of a personal life, teacher or dental hygienist?
Q. Which of these careers do you think allows the person to have more free time? More privacy? A better personal life where they are unaffected by their job, in general? Just so people know... teachers do not get summers off, it's a common misconception. Teachers are actually responsible for attending numerous meetings, workshops, continuing education, etc, all summer long.

A. neither of these jobs are really limiting to a social life, but i know friends who have become teachers removed themselves from myspace and facebook and any kind of social networking sites where their students could find them. dental hygienists don't have to worry as much about their reputation, nor do they have to bring home any work to do.

What is most important to you "Career" or "Personal Life"? Whats your sign and birthday?
Q. What are you more driven towards? Having a great career or having the best personal life? Some people like to party, hang out with friends, don't take work serious at all, and take work more as something you just do for income and who cares! Where as some others take work serious, are focused, rather work than play, and tend to not have much of a personal life, but enjoy working towards a great career. Whats your sign and birthday? What do you really want more a "Career" or "Personal Life(Doing what you want)?"

A. I think that we should all carry a balance in life. However, if I had to choose one or the other I would choose my family. My son, and husband are the most important things to me! Work may come and go. However, family sticks with you through thick and thin. I do however, take work seriously. I am not one of those people who take a job for granted. You can't in this economy. Plus, hard work and dedication will lead to success. If you can't seem to get off the couch then...I don't feel sorry for you. What is it like to be a Surgeon and is it possible to have social/personal life?
Q. How is the Surgeon's social and personal life? Can they have successful marriage, and still have parties? And whats the difference between the different specialties in that field, like for example would a cardiologist have more time than neurosurgeon? I would really like to hear any opinion you have even if its not answering my questions directly, anything that you could think of as for being a surgeon, Thank you in advance =)

A. well im not a Doctor. but i want to be and know plenty of thing that pertain to the medical field. a cardiologist is a doctor that specializes in the heart. hes the one that does heart surgery. a neuro surgeon speciales in the brain. theres a doctor for each part of the body. they have normal lives like most people they do normal shifts most of the time. but many also have rotating shifts one month they will do day hour the next month would be night shift. then the next month midnight shift. so that can screw up social life a little. so as long as they don't mind the shifts they have a great life.

How can we clearly recognise our personal life purpose (or heart desire)?
Q. Assuming we have a personal life purpose to carry out while enjoying life on this planet, how can we access the information? All answers are welcome but I would really appreciate tried and tested practical ways that have worked for you.

A. Unless you assume a God, the question of life s purpose is meaningless. Bertrand Russell So philosophically, God is the only answer for real purpose. If we reject God then we've rejected the only possible source of real purpose. Our human nature demands that we live a life worth living and things that have no purpose have no worth. Therefore, if we reject God, we must at least try to obtain a feeling of having a purpose. So you may be asking how we can deceive ourselves into thinking we have real purpose when we don't. Self deception is really a topic for Y!A psychology. The primary answer would be to keep busy so we don't have the time to think about a purposeless existence.

Does a Special ed teacher have the right to know what his or her students do in their personal life?
Q. I had a Special ed teacher that would call my house and find out I do in my personal life (outside of School) and in my family. She look at me strange like she has a crush on me or something. She knew everything about me.

A. No! Even if they are a special ed teacher, they still are required to act professionally. She has no business knowing what you do outside of school.

What can you say politely to get people from asking too many questions and intruding on my personal life?
Q. e.g. nosy people who gossip and chicks who want to dig into your personal life to evaluate your relationship, compare yours against them or people who have opinions on your life and want to fix it...even met them at dinner parties, clubs, work, etc. what can I do to put off these people without being rude? (Also have problem with attracting do-gooders who feel they should 'fix' our lives without asking for it...dishing out advice left and right about college, etc.)

A. Turn the conversation back around to them - people love talking about themselves. If they persist just say that you are a very private person.
